Real Women in Trucking Shines at the 105th TRB Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.!

We're excited to share that Desiree Wood, President of Real Women in Trucking (RWIT), arrived in Washington, D.C. yesterday to participate in the Transportation Research Board (TRB) 2026 Annual Meeting — the world's largest gathering of transportation professionals, held January 11–15, 2026, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

This premier event, convened by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, brings together thousands of experts to discuss innovative solutions across all modes of transportation.

Today, Desiree is diving into workshops to gain insights and connect with industry leaders. Tomorrow, she takes the stage with a powerful presentation on Labor Trafficking before the Truck & Bus Safety Committee. This important work was developed collaboratively by Desiree, Tamie Stuttle (Board Member of Real Women in Trucking), and Jake Elovirta from the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) — highlighting critical issues affecting truck drivers and the need for awareness, prevention, and stronger protections.

Desiree and Tamie are also contributing as part of a dedicated work group presenting on Truck Parking — a longstanding priority for RWIT to address safe, accessible parking for drivers under initiatives like Jason's Law.

Additionally, Desiree will share valuable Driver Perspectives during a session with the standing committee on Freight Planning, Logistics, and Modeling, bringing real-world insights from the road to shape future policies.

Real Women in Trucking is proud to amplify authentic truck driver voices — especially women and those facing labor challenges — at this influential forum.

Follow along this week as we post updates, highlights, photos, and key takeaways from the conference! Stay tuned on our social channels, website (realwomenintrucking.org), and here for the ins and outs of what's happening at TRB 2026.

Going under the knife for a facelift seemed too extreme and risky for my taste at this stage in life. I started researching non-surgical options and found https://ways2well.com/blog/stem-cell-for-cosmetics-revolutionary-treatments-for-skin-care which highlights the natural lifting effect of stem cell treatments. It is reassuring to know that I can achieve tighter skin without the downtime and potential complications of surgery. Preserving my natural expressions while looking younger is definitely the goal I want to achieve.
