REAL Women in Trucking began as an informal protest group in 2010 formed by working women truck drivers who found that the existing membership organizations were focused on corporate sponsors and less on driver issues.

In 2013, we filed the official paperwork to become a 501(c)(6) trade association.

Today, REAL Women in Trucking is recognized internationally as a credible voice in trucking on labor issues and gender-based violence and harassment in the trucking workplace. We are the first organization to create a dignified recognition award for women truck drivers, we have been champions and leaders in the “Jason’s Law” truck parking movement and have raised awareness that gender-based violence and harassment must be addressed in order to retain qualified women truck drivers in the industry.

Our work is currently featured in the feature length documentary “Driver” that recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and has been receiving great reviews. It is currently on a film festival tour.

We have made HERStory in the trucking industry and we are seeking new board members who can help us continue to grow and advance our strategic goals.
